Chilworth Pacific Fire Laboratories (previously Pacific Fire Laboratory) provides high quality fire litigation support consulting and fire simulation testing, and internationally known fire research studies.

The laboratory staff has been involved in numerous high profile litigation cases, has served on national and international standards committees, and has taught university courses in fire protection engineering.

The testing facilities include a 16' x 16' calorimeter, the Intermediate Scale Calorimeter (ICAL), state-of-the-art instrumentation and a spacious laboratory for large-scale fire reproduction testing. Computer modeling using the latest available fire models could complement laboratory testing. Modeling capabilities include buildings, transportation vehicles, and wildland fires. In addition, standard fire tests of building materials, furniture (including the new open flame mattress test and the California urban-wildland interface test), and other products, can be conducted.

Additional capabilities include performance based design consulting, product development support, fire test apparatus development, and fundamental fire research.
